PFI Mill

Description

Code: E.504

Use

For comminution of pulp in laboratory quantities under standardized conditions (30 g).

Device description

The PFI grinder is used to grind pulp samples in the laboratory. Correct grinding is the first important step in the production of laboratory hand sheets of the appropriate quality. The heart of the PFI mill consists of two rollers: an internally toothed roller (grinding body with 33 knives) and a smooth grinding sleeve. A weighed pulp sample prepared with a standardized whipping device (code: P.401.x) is placed in the grinding container and evenly distributed over the entire inner wall. The grinding body is then lowered into the grinding sleeve. After pressing the start button, the roller and grinding sleeve rotate at different speeds in the same direction and the grinding process begins. Due to the contact pressure of exactly 3.33 N/mm, the pulp is ground under constant, standardized conditions. After the process, the grinding body stops automatically and returns to the starting position. The crushed pulp can now be removed and the Schopper Riegler value (° SR) can be determined using a Schopper Riegler grinding degree tester (code: P.403.xx). The device is then available for further grinding and a grinding curve can be created.

Features
