Description
Code: E.206
Use
For determining the smoothness of paper or cardboard using the BEKK method.
Device description
This solid construction has a measuring head and a microprocessor and is easy to operate via an integrated touch display. The sample is placed in the measuring area with a photocell. The measurement can be carried out manually or fully automatically, without manual influence on the latter. After pressing the start button, the 10 kg measuring head is lowered onto the sample. This weight guarantees that the measuring head sits firmly on the glass plate. The integrated vacuum pump lowers the pressure in the system to 50.7 kPa. The system then records the time required until the pressure difference to the environment is exactly 48.0 kPa kPa (or 29.3 kPa). The measured time is displayed in BEKK seconds. An intermediate result is available just ten seconds after the start of the test. The software calculates the minimum, maximum, arithmetic mean and standard deviation. The measuring volume can be reduced by 1/10 or 1/20, which reduces the test time to a minimum and still provides very reliable test results.
