Overview
Since 1995 it has been Franz Silbermayr’s ambition to offer and further develop testing equipment of the highest quality. Now it is the ambition of the 2nd generation and for this very reason PTE Austria was founded 25 years later to continue to supply laboratory testing equipment of the highest quality worldwide.
Our company headquarters are located in the heart of Europe – Austria. The focus is on the development, manufacture and trade of laboratory testing equipment for testing paper, cardboard, tissue and pulp.

Franz Silbermayr, passionate developer and salesman, always friendly and cheerful person, proud father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of March 8, 2021 after an intense, successful and fulfilling life.
After this tragic loss for the Silbermayr family and the pulp and paper laboratory equipment industry, and under the toughest conditions due to the global COVID pandemic, PTE Austria continues to develop and produce to the highest quality and supply customers worldwide.

The newly founded PTE Austria takes over the knowledge, resources and rights of Xell GmbH and continues it as PTE – Pulp Test Equipment GmbH. Under the management of Michael Silbermayr, supported by Franz Silbermayr and an experienced team, the company focuses on the production and further development of the proven Einlehner devices as well as spare and wear parts for Xell products.
The focus is on the manufacture of pulp testing equipment and the development of customer-specific solutions. With new, user-friendly software and a comprehensive range of services – from installation and training to maintenance – PTE Austria remains a reliable partner for laboratory equipment in the pulp, paper and tissue industry.
